And so after that you felt fear. You knew about impermanence. You knew that a moment of happiness could be lost.

You became afraid to lose things. Friends. Acceptance. Home. Safety. Money. Health. Faith. Trust. Respect.

It changed how you lived. You cowered. You hesitated. You hid.

But look! You made it this far. Let me take your hand and glide with you through those dark times.

Because they did get dark. And they got better again. You enjoyed things again.

And then you would let the fear overtake you once again, and things would get worse.

You don't need to do that anymore. You don't need to fear and cower and worry and hide and let things get worse and worse.

Because you have a guarantee. That no matter what you fear the most, that thing you fear at the bottom of it all--death--will come. And that's fine.

You will become at that time what you always have been--one with the universe. You will become matter, like the other matter. You will cease to be an individual and become part of the whole.

And isn't that what you yearn for? You long to be safe and not alone, as you were when you were just part of your mother. You want to be content, without shame and sadness of the past or the fear of the future.

You will be welcomed back into the Whole. You will regain share knowledge and spirit of the whole.

And if you fear the loss of your memories and consciousness, don't worry too much. For one thing, you are not as conscious as you think. Most of your thoughts are abstractions.

But your moments of true awareness, your memories, emotions, are part of the human consciousness. You will continue on in that way, a thread in a tapestry.

And don't forget that time itself is an illusion. All time exists simultaneously, so you have always existed, you are existing (in all your past, present, and future forms) and you will exist for infinity. You are an immortal being stretched from beginning to end. Because the beginning and end of your experience of the universe begin and end with you.

And if it's pain you're afraid of, remember the best way to manage pain is to let go.

And if you fear judgement, come on into the pool of the judged. The water is fine.
