It is beautiful to go out in the early morning on summer vacation at the beach. First the earth welcomes you. The breeze caresses your face and gulls caw a greeting. The sand is soft and cool beneath your feet.
Then you see the people out in the morning--just as you are--doing things for their own enjoyment. A woman runs with her dog. A man takes his children out to play with their toys. An elderly couple walks with their coffee. Three friends do yoga in unison. A family eats breakfast together.
The exist in harmony, creating a overall scene of human happiness. They see to their needs, they enjoy the presence of their people, and live in the gentle opening of the day.
Occasionally it is marred by the urgency of capitalism. A woman walks with her phone, shouting at the poor subordinate on the other end. She exists in another world, and brings its darkness and strain. A rip in the fabric of tranquility.
She rushes on, carrying her stormcloud on her back. The sun returns.
